Installation

Landscape Tanks has a wide and diverse range of equipment at our disposal to handle even the most difficult installations.

The two most popular vehicles we use are:

Landscape Tanks use crane trucks to lift in the tanks

Crane trucks: for standard units under some conditions and deep bed units. May be used to lift tanks over fences, garages or carports and the like, when other access is limited.

Tele handlers are used for tight spaces or small gardens

Tele Handler/all terrain forklift: This unit is similar to an all terrain forklift or four wheel drive forklift. The tele handler will go through carports and garages and around tight access areas that a crane truck cannot access.  Requires 2m x 2m access

Landscape Tanks Pty. Ltd. staff will be happy to discuss all aspects of installation and design layout with customers and offer advice as appropriate. Installation is very simple and straight forward and the Landscape Tanks are simply placed on 50mm crushed rock on a firm base. Tanks incorporate a “cast in” rubber “O” ring to enable them to be easily plumbed together by pushing PVC pipe between the tanks.

We offer a full installation and delivery service using highly experienced staff if required.

DIY applications

Customers are free to prepare their own footings or base and arrange their own installations in a rather simple and straight forward process. The new, patented internal ”O” ring sealing system, which is cast into the tank wall, makes plumbing tanks together a dream. Simply push a PVC pipe into the seal between tanks and for downpipe plumbing.

Landscape Tanks have a large “footprint” and as such only require minimum footings of 50mm of crushed rock on a firm base (50kpa), which in many cases customers can prepare themselves saving on costs.

Comprehensive illustrated installation instructions are available at the time of purchase.

Many tank sales are made in country areas as the Landscape Tanks travel well on trucks. A standard forklift is used at either end to load and unload.

Free on site advisory service

Landscape Tanks Pty. Ltd. offer a free on site inspection and design advisory service in Metropolitan areas and in some cases country areas as well to assist customers and to share ideas of other customers experiences. Landscape Tanks staff offer advice on the ideal location and how the installation process works including the actual installation.

Joining tanks together and external downpipe plumbing.

During delivery the tanks are placed onto firm base. The internal PVC pipes, which connect the tanks together, are simply pushed into position at time of delivery. Planter box tops are then placed on top, completing the installation process. Delivery and installation is made easy with the innovative design of the Landscape Tanks and rubber seals cast into the concrete for sealing.

Installation seals using O-ring technology

Landscape Tanks feature a patented “O” ring seal for convenience, which is cast into the concrete for easy slip fitting of PVC pipes both internally for interconnecting the tanks together and for external downpipe pluming. This places the Landscape Tanks into a DIY category if required and allows for expansion and contraction.

Footings

Because of the unique design of the Landscape Tanks they only require modest footings of 50mm of crushed rock compacted onto a firm base. In most cases customers can do these themselves, although Landscape Tanks Pty. Ltd staff will be happy to arrange.

Retaining walls

L-R: Class 4 – 10mm crushed rock base is preferred if available, standard aggie pipe and Aggie pipe with sock.

Pre-engineered structural retaining wall drawings are available upon request and are suitable to hand to your builder, Architect, building surveyor or council as appropriate.

When Landscape Tanks are used as retaining walls they need to have an aggie pipe located at the rear to drain any surplus water away. This aggie pipe is to then be encased in a “sock” and backfilled with aggregate in a straight forward process the same as a conventional retaining wall.

Tank configurations

Landscape Tanks offer a wide range of orifices located in difference areas of the tanks to enable customers to configure tanks as required. These orifices are configured via a part number system to suit customer’s requirements. See Plumbing Configurations.

Council permits

Council permits are usually not required where works are less than 1m in height and water tanks specifically do not require planning or building permits. Council permits are almost certainly forthcoming with a minimum of fuss. Check your local council for details.
