Planter Box Tops
Planter box tops are a special innovative feature of the Landscape Tanks in that they provide convenient gardening height and they also come in two sizes 175mm deep (internal) and 275mm deep (internal) for the larger unit.
Planter bed tops have multiple uses as below:
For growing plants of all sizes- Customers usually heap the planter box in the middle (making the total soil depth around 350mm think) and mulch heavily for best results. Choose the right sort of plants to suit the conditions as to where the tank is to be installed and watch them thrive. Plants with reasonable shallow root system are ideal noting that shrubs with tap roots should be avoided.
Montrose: Before (left) and after 9 months (right) – a great demonstration as to the selection of the right plants for stunning results. Cordylines have shallow root system and can tolerate the hostile Australian climate. Similar plants will give similar results.
For use as outdoor kitchen – a stunning use of the planter top and a feature in any garden or courtyard. The outdoor kitchen needs to be installed in the larger top for added clearance for plumbing. The outdoor kitchen can also draw water from the tank beneath for washing and cooking.
For use as a water feature – another stunning idea for the planter bed top. Set up the water feature of your choice, place appropriate poly pipe into planter top drain hole at rear and seal, connect to water feature, install a water feature pump remotely behind or to the side of tanks as required connecting to 50mm PVC pipe at bottom of tank, insert 25mm PVC pipe into planter box top floor (knockout) to the water level required. Water then reaches this level and flows back into the tank below.
For use as day bed around pool – the possibilities are endless and this option is self-explanatory.
For use as seating if tanks are recessed into the ground – space saving and ideal for school, public and community areas as tanks are secure and very robust and resist vandalism and hard knocks including sharp objects.
For use as a fish pond.
Planter boxes all drain to the rear and not into the tanks.
